Planning and Prep

As defined by the Danielson Group, “Planning and Prep ” is defined as the following:

Domain 1 describes how the teacher designs, organizes, and creates instruction for his or her students. Planning and preparation allows the teacher to transform content from textbook information to activities and exercises which make the content knowledge accessible to students. Teachers also design assessment to measure if their teaching is effective and to see where students need more focused or differentiated instruction in certain content areas. The teacher’s job is to “arrange for learning” (Danielson, 2007, pg. 27). A teacher’s success depends on whether or not the design actually works in the classroom. The effect of the plans put into action is observable in the classroom when the teacher puts paper models into motion.

I have met this criteria as evidenced by the following.
